Bigleap2025-09-26T06:59:12+00:001. What is AEIMIS’S main contribution for the BIG LEAP project?
AEIMIS is responsible for leading the Communication, Dissemination, and Clustering activities within the BIG LEAP project. Our main role is to ensure that the project’s goals, activities, and results are clearly communicated to the right audiences, ranging from industry stakeholders and researchers to policymakers and the general public.
As part of this work, we developed the Communication, Dissemination and Clustering Plan, which defines the project’s outreach strategy, key messages, target groups, and communication channels. This plan is not static, it is updated regularly based on project progress and impact assessment. We also monitor performance using specific KPIs and ensure that all communication actions remain consistent and aligned with the project’s objectives.
On a practical level, AEIMIS manages the day-to-day communication outputs of the project. This includes preparing and publishing content such as newsletters, press releases, partner interviews, social media updates, website articles, and visual materials. We also provide support to partners to help them promote their own work within the project and ensure a unified communication approach across the consortium.
In addition to these activities, we support the project’s clustering efforts, working closely with BRING and other partners to connect BIG LEAP with other EU-funded initiatives in the battery and energy storage domain. This includes identifying relevant projects, initiating collaborations, and coordinating joint dissemination activities such as workshops, co-branded campaigns, or knowledge exchange sessions.
AEIMIS also leads the IPR strategy by providing guidance on protecting the project’s main assets and results. Additionally, it plays a key role in supporting the coordinator with quality assurance processes and project data management.
2. Which challenges will you overcome in the BIG PROJECT?
One of the main challenges is managing consistent, high-quality communication over the full duration of the project, especially within a diverse consortium that includes both industrial and research-focused partners. It requires strong coordination, timely content production, and continuous engagement to keep the project’s outreach dynamic and effective.
Translating highly technical concepts (such as second-life batteries, interoperability frameworks, or digital battery passports) into clear, engaging messages is another ongoing challenge. Our role involves working closely with technical partners to understand their work in depth and translate it into content that can resonate with non-specialist audiences while remaining scientifically accurate.
Another key challenge lies in the clustering activities. Building meaningful collaborations with other European projects involves more than simply listing them as related initiatives. It takes time to identify common objectives, align communication timelines, and coordinate joint activities that add value to all involved. AEIMIS plays a proactive role in driving these interactions and ensuring that BIG LEAP contributes to the broader EU effort in battery innovation.
Finally, we are also responsible for ensuring that the project’s communication outputs remain aligned with EU policy priorities and current trends in sustainable energy and circular economy. This involves continuously adapting our messaging, identifying new outreach opportunities, and keeping stakeholders informed of the project’s added value in the European research and innovation ecosystem.
