BIGLEAP takes part in the High Level Managerial Course to support knowledge exchange on clean energy systems
Bigleap2026-04-22T14:58:28+00:00The Third Edition of the High‑Level Managerial Course on Renewable Energy and the Energy Transition took place in Ben Guerir, Morocco, from 15 to 22 April 2026, following an online preparatory phase held between 30 March and 13 April. Organised by RES4Africa in collaboration with Enel Foundation and UM6P – University Mohammed VI Polytechnic, the programme gathered professionals from across North and West Africa for a week dedicated to strengthening managerial and technical capacities in the renewable energy sector.
BIGLEAP participated in the on‑site activities, contributing perspectives linked to the project’s work on advancing next‑generation battery solutions and supporting the development of more resilient and adaptable energy systems. The project’s focus on improving interoperability and enabling the sustainable use of second‑life battery storage provided a relevant framework for discussions on system planning, flexibility needs and long‑term energy transition strategies.
A session was conducted by Leticia Castrejon from BRING and Project Coordinator, together with Paolo Cutrone from RES4Africa. Their intervention introduced key elements of BIGLEAP’s approach, highlighting how improved battery management, data‑driven methodologies and pilot‑based validation can support decision‑making processes and contribute to more efficient storage integration. The session offered participants an overview of ongoing work within the consortium and underlined the importance of coordinated efforts to strengthen battery value chains.
Throughout the week, BIGLEAP representatives engaged in workshops and technical exchanges, contributing to discussions on planning practices, market design and operational challenges. These interactions helped identify areas where the project’s tools and methodologies can complement national priorities, particularly in relation to flexibility services, storage deployment and the development of scalable approaches for clean energy integration.
The insights gathered in Ben Guerir will support upcoming phases of the project and reinforce BIGLEAP’s contribution to initiatives that enhance institutional capacity and promote sustainable, interoperable and cost‑effective energy solutions across regions.
